These soft and pliable homemade flour tortillas are perfect for tacos, burritos, or wraps. Simple to make with basic ingredients, they are a great addition to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 240 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 180 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the vegetable oil and warm water to the dry ingredients.
Step 3
Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.

Cover the dough balls with a damp cloth and let rest for 15 minutes.
Step 6
On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.
Step 7
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for about 1 minute on each side, or until golden brown spots appear.
Step 8
Keep the tortillas warm in a clean towel until ready to serve.
