  • 60 ml honey
  • 7 grams instant yeast
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 10 grams salt
  • 360 ml warm water
  • 480 grams whole wheat flour

Directions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, honey, and instant yeast. Stir and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Step 2
Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add whole wheat flour, one cup at a time, stirring well after each addition.

Once the dough starts to come together, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan.

Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes until it has doubled in size.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
