Ingredients

  • 120 ml beer
  • 4 slices bread
  • 30 grams butter
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 225 grams cheddar cheese
  • 15 grams flour
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
Stir in flour to form a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 3
Gradually add beer, stirring constantly until smooth.
Step 4
Add grated cheese, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
Step 5
Pour the cheese mixture over the toasted bread slices.
Step 6
Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra cayenne pepper or fresh herbs.
