Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken breast
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 200 grams pineapple chunks
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 100 ml water
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar

Directions

Step 1
Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Mix the chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Step 4
Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Step 5
Cut the green and red bell peppers into chunks.
Step 6
In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Step 7
Add the bell peppers and pineapple chunks to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Step 8
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, white vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and water to make the sweet and sour sauce.
Step 9
Pour the sauce into the pan and bring to a simmer.
Step 10
Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
Step 11
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Step 12
Serve the sweet and sour chicken hot with rice or noodles.
