Crispy Lumpia Shanghai Rolls are a delightful Filipino appetizer made with ground pork and vegetables wrapped in a thin pastry and deep-fried to perfection. Perfect for snacks or party treats, these rolls are both tasty and easy to make.
Directions
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, carrot, onion, garlic, and spring onions. Mix well.
Step 2
Add soy sauce, egg, salt, and black pepper. Continue mixing until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Step 3
Place a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the meat mixture onto the wrapper. Spread it evenly along one edge.
Step 4
Roll the wrapper tightly around the filling, folding in the sides to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Step 5
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
Step 6
Fry the lumpia rolls in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch.
Step 7
Drain the fried lumpia on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Step 8
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
