  • 2 bay leaves
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 1 cabbage
  • 4 carrots
  • 1.5 kg corned beef brisket
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 liters water

Directions

Step 1
Place the corned beef brisket in a large pot or Dutch oven.
Step 2
Add water, onion, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorns to the pot.
Step 3
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 2.5 hours.
Step 4
Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
Step 5
Add the cabbage wedges to the pot and cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Step 6
Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Step 7
Serve the sliced corned beef with the cooked vegetables.
