Ingredients

  • 450 g beef flank steak
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 2 green onions
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 60 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Coat the beef slices with cornstarch and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 4
Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 6
Add the soy sauce, water, and brown sugar to the skillet and bring to a boil.
Step 7
Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce.
Step 8
Add the chopped green onions and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 9
Serve the Mongolian Beef hot with steamed rice or noodles.
