A delicious and hearty British snack made of boiled eggs wrapped in sausage meat, coated in breadcrumbs, and deep-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 50 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 200 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 6 large eggs
  • 500 g pork sausage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 500 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Place 4 eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl of ice water to cool. Peel the eggs.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the sausage meat with salt and black pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions.
Step 3
Flatten each portion of sausage meat into a patty and wrap around each boiled egg, ensuring it is completely covered.
Step 4
Coat each sausage-wrapped egg in flour, then dip into the beaten egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs to coat.
Step 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 170°C. Fry the eggs for about 7-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 6
Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm or at room temperature.
