Ingredients

8 Servings
  • 5 g active dry yeast
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 20 ml melted butter
  • 120 ml plain yogurt
  • 5 g salt
  • 10 g sugar
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 180 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Step 2
Add the warm water, yogurt, and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Step 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Step 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
Step 5
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
Step 6
On a floured surface, roll out each ball into an oval shape about 0.5 cm thick.
Step 7
Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Place a rolled-out dough on the skillet and cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 1-2 minutes. Flip and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.
Step 8
Brush the cooked naan with melted butter and serve warm.
