Ingredients

  • 6 anchovy fillets
  • 120 g black olives
  • 800 g canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 handful fresh basil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 g spaghetti

Directions

Step 1
Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and anchovy fillets, cooking until the garlic is fragrant and the anchovies have dissolved.
Step 3
Add the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
Step 4
Pour in the canned tomatoes, crushing them with a spoon. Stir in the olives and capers. Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes.
Step 5
Season the sauce with salt and stir in the fresh basil.
Step 6
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until well coated. Serve immediately.
