  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 250 milliliters cold water
  • 50 grams cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 500 grams shrimp
  • 1000 milliliters vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.

In another bowl, beat the egg and combine with cold water.

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 180°C (350°F).

Dip each shrimp into the tempura batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
