Directions
Step 1
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.

Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Shape each half into a loaf and place on a greased baking sheet.

Cover the loaves with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
