  • 5 grams baking soda
  • 200 grams brown sugar
  • 120 grams butter
  • 240 grams flour
  • 240 ml hot water
  • 240 ml molasses
  • 1 pie crust

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the flour and brown sugar.
Step 3
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
In another bowl, mix the molasses, hot water, and baking soda.
Step 5
Pour the molasses mixture into the pie crust.
Step 6
Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the molasses mixture.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
Step 8
Allow the pie to cool before serving.
