Delicious and flaky sausage rolls, perfect for a snack or appetizer. These English Sausage Rolls are made with seasoned sausage meat wrapped in golden puff pastry.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the sausage meat with the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Step 3
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3mm.
Step 4
Cut the pastry into rectangles approximately 10cm x 15cm.
Step 5
Place a portion of the sausage mixture along one edge of each rectangle.
Step 6
Brush the opposite edge of the pastry with beaten egg.
Step 7
Roll the pastry over the sausage meat, pressing the edges to seal.
Step 8
Cut each roll into smaller pieces, about 5cm long.
Step 9
Place the sausage rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 10
Brush the tops with a mixture of beaten egg and milk.
Step 11
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the sausage is cooked through.
Step 12
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
