A no-bake Canadian dessert consisting of three layers: a crumbly base, a creamy custard middle, and a rich chocolate topping.
Directions
Step 1
Melt 115g unsalted butter, 50g granulated sugar, and 30g cocoa powder in a double boiler. Add the beaten egg and stir until thickened. Remove from heat.
Step 2
Stir in 200g graham cracker crumbs and 50g sweetened shredded coconut. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of an ungreased 8x8 inch pan.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, cream together 115g unsalted butter, 30ml heavy cream, 30g vanilla custard powder, and 240g powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Spread over the base layer.
Step 4
Melt 115g semi-sweet chocolate and 15g unsalted butter together. Once melted, pour over the custard layer and spread evenly.
Step 5
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
