A simple and flavorful Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan) stir-fry, perfect as a side dish or a vegetarian main course.
Directions
Step 1
Wash and trim the Chinese broccoli, cutting off any tough ends.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4
Add the Chinese broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the leaves start to wilt.
Step 5
Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let the broccoli steam for 3-4 minutes until tender.
Step 6
Remove the lid and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat the broccoli.
Step 7
Cook for another 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and serve immediately.
