These homemade ladyfingers are light, airy, and perfect for desserts like tiramisu or simply enjoying with a cup of coffee. Easy to make and deliciously satisfying.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with 50g of granulated sugar until pale and thick. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 25g of granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
Step 4
Gently fold the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture until just combined.
Step 5
Sift the flour over the mixture and gently fold it in until no streaks of flour remain.
Step 6
Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a plain round tip. Pipe the batter into strips about 10 cm (4 inches) long onto the prepared baking sheet.
Step 7
Sift powdered sugar over the piped batter and let it sit for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the ladyfingers are lightly golden and firm to the touch.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
