A delicious, homemade marinara sauce made with fresh tomatoes. Perfect for pasta, pizza, or as a base for other Italian dishes.
Directions
Step 1
Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath. Peel and dice the tomatoes.
Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Step 4
Stir in the diced tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar.
Step 5
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
Step 6
Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 7
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
