Simple Clotted Cream

  • 900 ml heavy cream

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 82°C (180°F).

Pour the heavy cream into a shallow baking dish, ensuring that the cream is about 2.5 cm (1 inch) deep.
Step 3
Place the dish in the preheated oven and let it cook for 12 hours. It’s best to do this overnight.
Step 4
After 12 hours, carefully remove the dish from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
Step 5
Once cooled, cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Step 6
After refrigeration, gently skim the thick layer of clotted cream from the top and transfer it to a jar or container. The liquid left behind can be used for baking or cooking.
Step 7
Store the clotted cream in the refrigerator and use within 5 days.
