This recipe guides you to create delicious and authentic Mexican tortas, a type of sandwich filled with various ingredients such as meats, cheeses, and vegetables.

  • 1 avocado
  • 4 bolillo rolls
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 50 g pickled jalapeños
  • 100 g queso fresco
  • 200 g refried beans
  • 4 slices sliced ham
  • 1 tomato

Directions

Step 1
Cut the bolillo rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on each half.
Step 2
Spread a layer of refried beans on the bottom half of each roll.
Step 3
Layer the ham slices, avocado slices, tomato slices, and lettuce leaves on top of the beans.
Step 4
Sprinkle queso fresco over the vegetables.
Step 5
Top with pickled jalapeños, if desired.
Step 6
Place the top half of the bolillo roll over the filling and serve immediately.
