  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 200 g butter
  • 225 g cream cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 60 ml heavy cream
  • 240 ml milk
  • 400 g powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 5
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Step 6
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 8
To make the frosting, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Gradually add the heavy cream and continue to beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Step 9
Once the cakes are completely cool, spread a layer of frosting on top of one of the cakes. Place the second cake on top, then spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of the cake.

Decorate as desired and serve.
