This recipe will guide you through creating delicious homemade egg rolls filled with a savory mixture of pork and vegetables, perfect for an appetizer or snack.
Directions
Step 1
In a large skillet, cook the ground pork over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Step 2
Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
Step 3
Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 4
Lay out an egg roll wrapper with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.
Step 5
Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly. Brush a bit of the beaten egg on the top corner to seal the egg roll. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Step 6
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
Step 7
Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
