Ingredients

  • 60 g additional melted butter
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 115 g butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups cornflakes cereal
  • 300 ml cream of chicken soup
  • 900 g frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 240 g shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 240 ml sour cream

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, shredded Cheddar cheese, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
Step 3
Transfer the potato mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Step 4
In a small bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes cereal with the additional melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden brown on top.
Step 6
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
