Country Apple Dumplings

Delicious and easy-to-make apple dumplings wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked in a sweet, buttery sauce.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 fluid ounces lemon-lime soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups white sugar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2
Cut each apple into 8 wedges and set aside.
Step 3
Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
Step 4
Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll triangle, starting at the smallest end, and place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 5
Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Pour over the apple dumplings.
Step 6
Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the pan, avoiding pouring it directly over the dumplings.
Step 7
Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the top of the dumplings.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
