Ingredients

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 400 g diced tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 12 green olives
  • 450 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 50 g raisins
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 225 ml tomato sauce
  • 60 ml white wine

Directions

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 2
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Remove excess fat.
Step 3
Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
Step 4
Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green olives, raisins, cumin, oregano, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper.
Step 5
Add white wine if using, and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Step 6
Reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 7
Remove bay leaf before serving. Serve hot with rice, black beans, or plantains.
