Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Remove excess fat.

Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.

Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green olives, raisins, cumin, oregano, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper.

Add white wine if using, and bring the mixture to a simmer.
