This homemade strawberry jam is perfect for spreading on toast, adding to desserts, or using as a filling for pastries. It's simple to make and only requires a few ingredients.

  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 1000 g strawberries
  • 500 g sugar

Directions

Step 1
Place the strawberries in a large pot and crush them using a potato masher.
Step 2
Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot and stir to combine.
Step 3
Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam reaches the desired consistency.
Step 5
To check the consistency, place a small amount of jam on a chilled plate and let it sit for a few seconds. If it wrinkles when pushed with your finger, it's ready.
Step 6
Remove the pot from heat and let the jam cool slightly.
Step 7
Transfer the jam to sterilized jars and seal them properly. Let them cool completely before storing.
