This classic Cuban sandwich is a delightful blend of flavors with layers of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard pressed between crispy bread. Perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat a sandwich press or a skillet over medium heat.
Step 2
Slice the Cuban bread loaf in half lengthwise.
Step 3
Spread yellow mustard on the inside of both halves of the bread.
Step 4
Layer the roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles on the bottom half of the bread.
Step 5
Cover with the top half of the bread and gently press down.
Step 6
Spread softened butter on the outside of the sandwich.
Step 7
Place the sandwich in the sandwich press or skillet. Cook until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted, about 5-7 minutes. If using a skillet, press down with a heavy pan or spatula and flip halfway through.
Step 8
Remove the sandwich from the press or skillet and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
