A delightful and easy-to-make cranberry sauce perfect for holiday meals. This recipe combines the tartness of cranberries with the sweetness of sugar and the zest of oranges to create a flavorful and festive side dish.
Directions
Step 1
Rinse the cranberries and discard any that are damaged or bruised.
Step 2
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Step 3
Add the cranberries to the saucepan and return to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries begin to burst.
Step 4
Stir in the orange zest and remove the saucepan from the heat.
Step 5
Allow the cranberry sauce to cool completely at room temperature. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
Step 6
Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
