Ingredients

  • 240 grams all-purpose flour
  • 7 grams baking powder
  • 30 grams granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 355 ml milk
  • powdered sugar
  • 1 gram salt
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
Step 2
In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Step 3
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan to 190°C (375°F).
Step 5
Pour the batter into a funnel, covering the bottom of the spout with your finger, or use a squeeze bottle.
Step 6
Hold the funnel or bottle several inches above the oil and release the batter in a circular motion to form a web-like pattern.
Step 7
Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
Step 8
Remove the funnel cake from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Step 9
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
