This Beer Can Chicken recipe results in a juicy and flavorful bird with crispy skin. The beer can method helps to keep the chicken moist while grilling, and the seasoned rub adds a delicious flavor.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F).
Step 2
Remove and discard the neck and giblets from the chicken. Rinse the chicken inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 3
Rub the chicken lightly with the cooking oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Step 4
Open the can of beer and pour out about half (drink it or save for later). Place the can on a solid surface and lower the chicken onto the can so that it fits into the cavity.
Step 5
Transfer the chicken on the beer can to the grill. Balance the bird on its two legs and the can, like a tripod.
Step 6
Close the grill lid and cook the chicken until the internal temperature registers 165°F in the breast and 175°F in the thigh, about 1.5 hours.
Step 7
Carefully remove the chicken and the beer can from the grill. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
