Ingredients

  • 200 g broccoli
  • 50 g butter
  • 300 g carrots
  • 150 g cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Peel and slice the potatoes and carrots. Cut the broccoli into florets.
Step 3
Boil the potatoes and carrots in salted water for 10 minutes. Add broccoli and cook for another 5 minutes. Drain the vegetables.
Step 4
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
Step 5
Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Step 6
Add the grated cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 7
In a large baking dish, layer the vegetables and pour the cheese sauce over them.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
