Delicious and savory Swedish meatballs served with a rich and creamy gravy. Perfect for a family dinner or special occasion.
Directions
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Step 2
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Step 3
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 7-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
Step 4
In the same skillet, add the flour to the remaining fat and whisk to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
Step 5
Gradually whisk in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Stir in the heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and the gravy is thickened.
Step 7
Serve the meatballs hot with the gravy spooned over them.
