  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 whole chicken

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Step 2
Place the chicken breast-side down on a cutting board. Using kitchen shears, cut along both sides of the backbone to remove it.
Step 3
Flip the chicken over and press down on the breastbone to flatten the chicken.
Step 4
Rub the chicken with olive oil, then season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Step 5
Place the chicken on a baking sheet and arrange lemon slices around it.
Step 6
Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Step 7
Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving and serving.
