A delicious and creamy chicken tikka masala sauce that combines tender chicken pieces with a rich and flavorful tomato-based sauce. Perfect for serving over rice or with naan bread.
Directions
Step 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Step 2
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in the tomato sauce and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and yogurt. Mix well.
Step 5
Add the garam masala, paprika, ground cumin, ground turmeric, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
Step 6
Return the browned chicken pieces to the skillet and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Step 7
Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
