This classic cheesy potato casserole, often called 'funeral potatoes,' is a comforting and easy-to-make dish perfect for gatherings and potlucks.

  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g butter
  • 200 g cheddar cheese
  • 100 g cornflakes cereal
  • 300 g cream of chicken soup
  • 900 g frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 450 g sour cream

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the sour cream, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar cheese, melted butter, salt, pepper, and chopped onion.

Add the frozen hash brown potatoes to the mixture and stir until well combined.
Step 4
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes with a little melted butter and sprinkle over the top of the potato mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
