  • 12 slices bread
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 57 g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 eggs
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 475 ml milk
  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Step 2
Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the prepared baking dish.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes, making sure all the bread is well coated.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Remove the casserole from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.

Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
