Directions
Step 1
In a food processor, combine the basil leaves and garlic. Pulse until the basil and garlic are finely chopped.
Step 2
Add the pine nuts and Parmesan cheese to the food processor. Pulse a few more times to combine.
Step 3
With the food processor running, slowly add the olive oil in a steady stream. Scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed.
Step 4
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Pulse a few more times to combine.
Step 5
Transfer the pesto sauce to a bowl and cover. Refrigerate until ready to use. Pesto can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
