  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 325 g chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 200 g packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 170 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g white sugar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 165 degrees C (330 degrees F). Grease baking sheets or line with parchment paper.
Step 2
Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until well blended.
Step 4
Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy.
Step 5
Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.
Step 6
Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
Step 7
Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
Step 8
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
