Ingredients

  • 30 g all-purpose flour
  • 480 ml beef broth
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 60 ml milk
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the patties and set aside.
Step 3
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to coat. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly, until the gravy thickens.
Step 5
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and return the patties to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the patties are cooked through and the gravy is thickened.
Step 6
Serve the hamburger steaks with the onion gravy spooned over the top.
