A creamy and delicious traditional Spanish dessert made with simple ingredients like eggs, milk, and sugar. Perfect for any occasion!
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 150 grams of sugar with water until golden brown to make caramel. Immediately pour the caramel into a flan mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
Step 3
In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add the remaining sugar and mix well.
Step 4
Heat the milk until warm, then slowly add to the egg mixture while stirring constantly.
Step 5
Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Step 6
Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated flan mold.
Step 7
Place the mold in a larger baking dish and fill the outer dish with hot water to create a water bath.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 10
To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it, then invert onto a serving plate.
