Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tomato

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper until well combined.
Step 3
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
Step 4
Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
Step 5
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
Step 6
Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
Step 7
Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion on the bottom half of each bun.
Step 8
Place the cooked patties on top of the vegetables, and add ketchup and mustard as desired.
Step 9
Cover with the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
