Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

Transfer the browned beef to the slow cooker.

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the cooked onion and garlic to the slow cooker.

Add the sliced carrots, diced potatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.

Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef and vegetables are tender.

About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the frozen peas. Season with salt and pepper.
